Meet the 2023-2024 Pegasus Creative team!

 

Maro Innocent-Otolo ’25

Maro is a junior Communications and Film Studies double major from Lagos, Nigeria. She is the Communications Associate for the Oglethorpe Museum of Art and a Social Media Manager, Archivist, and Game Operations Staff for Oglethorpe’s athletics department, GoPetrels. She is an active member of the Black Student Caucus at Oglethorpe and was an international student at the Dunwoody Rotary Club for the Georgia Rotary Student Program 2020-21. Maro’s work includes graphic design, social media management, content writing, and content creation.

 

 

 

 

Kaia HeadshotMikaia “Kaia” Wheaton ’27

Kaia is from Atlanta, Georgia. She’s a freshman choosing to major in Politics. Outside of Pegasus, she is a member of Tri Sigma in the Epsilon Theta Chapter and enjoys participating in many activities around Oglethorpe’s campus. She aspires to be a prosecutor. In the summer of 2023, she was rewarded the Lanier Scholarship from Oglethorpe and The National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees Southern Region Scholarship. Kaia helps with content creation for the university’s TikTok page, manages the OglethorpeLife account, and designs promotional graphics. 

 

 

 

 

Karina Lopez Duran ’26

Karina is a sophomore student-athlete pursuing her master’s in business administration, focusing on global marketing and partnerships and minoring in communications. She is from Atlanta, Georgia, an active member of Oglethorpe’s women’s basketball team, and on the executive board for The Baptist Collegiate Ministry and the professional business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. Karina is a Dream.US Scholar Recipient involved in various campus organizations facilitating social and immigrant justice (OU Monarchs & Undocupetrels). She also volunteers and plans on interning at the Latin American Association. In her professional endeavors in the Marketing and Communications department on campus, she specializes in market research, partnership development, and sponsorship acquisition in athletics.  

 

 

Itzel Ramos headshotItzel Ramos ’25

Itzel is a Dream. US scholarship recipient majoring in psychology and with a minor in business administration. Originally from Mexico, Itzel was raised in Norcross, GA, where she has gained an interest in politics and helps canvass seasonally. Itzel is a part of Oglethorpe’s Programming Board, serves the team at BCM Christian Club, and is part of the OU Monarch’s executive board. She is currently under the Parker Dewey Fellowship as a Web Assistant focusing on growth development for business, communication, website editing, and writing. When she graduates, Itzel wants to be a trauma therapist concentrated on helping kids and teens. In the future, she’d like to be a business owner and one day possibly be a psychology professor.

Since 2012, dozens of students have interned at Pegasus in a variety of roles: Web Content Developer, Graphic Designer, Digital Production Assistant, Photojournalist, Campus Reporter, Arts Promotion Fellow, Marketing Analyst, Public Relations Specialist, and more!
